Abstract

1362244 Tamper-proof closures MARDON ILLINGWORTH Ltd 24 May 1972 [4 June 1971] 18934/71 Heading B8T A tamper-proof cap 20 for an aerosol container 10 is made of resilient synthetic resin and comprises a flared lower edge 25 which engages under a bead 12 on the container 10 and a skirt 28 having a rib 24 which engages under the bead 12, the skirt being frangible over a circumferential portion to form a tear-strip. When the tear strip has been removed, the cap 20 resiliently engages the bead 12 to continue to protect the aersol valve (not shown). The skirt has a groove 26 (or may have circumferential perforations) or the groove may be adjacent the cap wall 22 or the rib 24. The bead 12 may be located at the edge 14 of the container 10.
