Abstract

1520808 Combined safety and tamper-indicating closures GLYNDON PLASTICS Ltd 14 Oct 1976 [17 Oct 1975 30 Dec 1975] 42583/75 and 53088/75 Heading B8T A combined safety and tamper-indicting closure cap 7 is provided internally with a bead 10, Fig. 5, having a gap 11, bead 10 snapping over a bead 4, (Fig. 4), and lug 6 on container 1 when the cap is applied thereto, removal only being subsequently possible when gap 11 is aligned with lug 6; additionally cap 7 is provided with a tear strip 13, Fig. 1, which snaps over a second bead 5, Fig. 2, on the container. Gap 11 may be provided with a shallow bead 12 so that some force is required to remove the cap even when in the aligned position. In a modification, Figs. 7, 8 (not shown), removal of tear strip (13<SP>1</SP>) leaves an anchor ring (21) on the container connected to cap (7<SP>1</SP>) by means of a hinge element (22). Preferably the cap is made of polyethylene.
