Abstract

In order to increase the vertical distance between the roof truss (1) and the top ceiling (2) of a building so that a habitable attic may be created, the roof truss (1) is detached from the building, lifted up as a single piece in its totality by means of lifting units (6) and guided in the lifting direction by guiding elements (18) which act as supports for the lifted roof truss at least until the outer walls of the building are sufficiently raised to bear the roof truss.
