Abstract

A textile spindle blade 5 on which a bobbin may be mounted, has a surface 13, at or around its tip, formed of a wear-resisting plastics material such as nylon or polytetafluoroethylene. When a bobbin tube is placed on the spindle the annular, tube locating member within the tube which has either a central bore through which the tip passes or a central recess into which the tip fits, engages the surface 13. The tube locating member is preferably of cadmium-plated mild steel, or of a plastics material such as polyhexamethylene material.
