892,521. Winding yarns. UNIVERSAL WINDING CO. Sept. 21, 1959 [Oct. 3, 1958], No. 32110/59. Class 120(2) A yarn traverse roll has its periphery formed with a continuous helical groove including two branches 22, 24, which intersect, one branch being greater in depth than the other at each intersection and a portion of the shallower branch immediately after an intersection being off-set from a true helical path with the portion before the intersection widened. With respect to the diameter of the roll, the depth of the shallower branch is about <SP>1</SP>/80<SP>-1</SP>/20 and of the deeper branch about <SP>9</SP>/40-<SP>11</SP>/40 and the width of widest point of the widened portion is <SP>1</SP>/20-<SP>7</SP>/40 and of the deeper branch <SP>1</SP>/80-<SP>3</SP>/40
