A hopper with a central outlet 6, Fig. 1, has an air permeable false floor supported on a framework 2 and comprising sector-shaped perforated plates 3 covered by air permeable sheets 4 and clamped to the framework at the edges by radial rails 5. The ends of the rails 5 are tapered in the region of the outlet 6 to provide a space for the sliding material.
