Abstract

997,855. Valves. RONSON PRODUCTS Ltd. Sept. 13, 1961 [Sept. 21, 1960], No. 32408/60. Heading F2V. [Also in Divisions F4 and G3] A valve for a gas burner contains at least two pervious discs 14, 15 separated by an impervious and resilient disc 16, the arrangement being such that gas flows radially outwards through one pervious disc and radially inwards through the other pervious disc, the three discs being compressed to control the flow of gas. The three discs may be bonded together and if more than three are used, each alternate impervious disc has a central aperture. The discs are seated over a central aperture 13 in the bottom of a bound housing 1 and are compressed by a plunger 8 under the control of a screwed adjusting member 7. A rod 11 incorporating a resilient seal 12 adapted to seat over a gas flow aperture 10, is slidably mounted in the plunger 8 and lifts under spring force when a snuffer cap has been lifted. A sealing ring 17 is inserted between the housing 1 and plunger 8. The fuel is supplied to the discs by a wick 18 clamped between a lug 19 and the lower apertured end of the housing 1.
