Abstract

The invention comprises metallized disazo dyes of formula <FORM:0997491/C4-C5/1> wherein A is a radical of the benzene series, B is a radical of the naphthalene or pyrazole series, X and Y are -O- or -COO- and are ortho to the azo group and A or B contains the group W-NH-, W being halotriazinyl, halopyrimidinyl, halopyrimidinoyl, halopyrimidinesulphonyl, haloquinoxalinoyl or haloquinoxaline-sulphonyl radical. The dyes are prepared by reacting the corresponding copper complexes containing an amino group in A or B with an appropriate acylating agent. The dyes may be used to colour cellulose fibres by the usual reactive dye processes in green or blue shades. Examples are given.
