Abstract

The invention comprises azo dyes which, in the form of the free acid are of formula <FORM:1020801/C4-C5/1> wherein Y is an o-naphthylene radical substituted by a sulphonic acid group and an acryloyamino or b -chloropropionylamino group, B is an o-naphthylene radical, one of R1 and R2 is a C1-4 alkoxy group and the other is a hydrogen or chlorine atom or a C1-4 alkoxy, methyl, nitroalkylsulphone, sulphamyl, carbamyl or substituted sulphamyl group. The dyes may be prepared by the processes described in the parent Specification. The dyes may be used to colour nitrogenous textile materials in reddish-blue to greenish-blue shades.
