Abstract

The invention comprises dyes which, in the form of the free acids are of formula <FORM:1020820/C4-C5/1> wherein Y is an o-naphthalene radical substituted by a sulphonic acid group and by an acryloylamino or b -chloropropionylamino group, B is an o-naphthylene radical or a pyrazole radical linked in 4-position to the azo group and in 5-position to the oxygen atom, three of R1, R2, R3 and R4 are nitro groups and the fourth is a hydrogen atom or a nitro group. The dyes may be prepared by the processes described in Specification 947,647. The preparation of a 1,1-complex is described. The dyes give brown to black shades on nitrogenous materials.
