Abstract
The invention comprises chromium complexes of monoazo dyes of formula <FORM:1001836/C4-C5/1> wherein Z is the group -CH = CH2 or -CH2CH2Cl, n is 1 or 2, one of Q1 and Q2 is a hydrogen atom and the other a sulphonic acid group, L is a hydrogen or chlorine atom or a nitro group, the ring X contains one more chlorine atoms or nitro groups and the ring T may contain one or more chlorine atoms or methyl, methoxy or nitro groups. The complexes may be prepared by reacting a 1 : 1-chromium complex of one of the dyes in the complex with an equimolar amount of the other dye or by treating the complexes of the above formula but wherein the -NHCOZ group is replaced -NH2 with acryloyl chloride or b -chloropropionylchloride. The dyes may be used to colour nitrogenous textile materials in red and orange shades.
