Abstract

995,403. Load handling pallets. SOLENT CANNERS Ltd. April 17, 1964, No. 15967/64. Heading B8H. In a method of supporting and stacking a plurality of similar rectangular articles 1, a shell of cardboard 16, used as an expendable element, is folded from a rectangular sheet, Fig. 1, into a channel configuration having a flat horizontal rectangular base 7 lying between two fold lines 2, 2 with two vertical rightangular parallel side walls 6 lying between fold lines 2, 3; 2, 3. Each side wall 6 terminates at the same height in an outward wing 8 between fold lines 3, 4. Each wing 8 is doubleply, formed by a reverse fold 9 between fold lines 4, 5. Six articles 1 are arranged on the base 7 as shown and lips 10 on the end of folds 9 are tucked in. Successive layers of articles may be stacked as shown, the shell with articles forming a pallet.
