Abstract

994,594. Latches; sliding window fasteners. QUICKTHO ENGINEERING Ltd. April 6, 1964 [April 4, 1963], No. 13344/63. Heading E2A. A catch for sliding sashes comprises a bolt ousing 4 adapted to be mounted in or upon a part 3 of a sash or frame member, a bolt 5 rotatably mounted within the housing 4, a spring 8 urging the bolt in a direction to engage a complementary locking means on an associated sash or frame member 19, and cam means 13, 14 operable upon rotation of the bolt 5 to retain the bolt in a free or withdrawn position. As shown, the bolt 5, which slides in antifriction bushes 6, 7 in the housing 4, is engageable in a socket 31 on the member 19, and is provided with a pin 14 which co-operates with a cam 13 provided on the housing 4, the cam being formed with a groove 16 in the position corresponding to the withdrawn position of the bolt 5.
