992,334. Reciprocating pumps and motors. DOWTY HYDRAULIC UNITS Ltd., and UNIPAT A.G. May 16, 1962 [June 2, 1961], No. 19991/61. Heading F1A. A pump or motor assembly comprises a plurality of pump or motor units arranged with their axes parallel and their drive shafts connected to a main drive shaft by a gear train. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, two axial piston pumps 1, 2, of the variable displacement, tilting cylinder block type are driven by a shaft 43, which also drives a gear pump 45 for priming. Both cylinder blocks are tilted by a servomotor 52 acting through links 48, 49. In another embodiment, Fig. 4, for two fixed displacement motors 56, 57, drive is transmitted to a shaft 79 through gears 76, 77, 78.
