Abstract

1348454 Axial piston pumps and motors K I BERG 26 July 1972 [3 Aug 1971] 34967/72 Heading F1A An axial piston hydraulic pump or motor comprises a housing 1 having a stationary gear 12 engaged by a gear 5 on one side of a nutating member 4, the other side of member 4 being engaged by pistons 8. The centre of the member 4 has a splined connection with a shaft 2, a pin 6 projecting from this member 4 on the gear side thereof being engaged in a recess in a rotary valve 7 controlling fluid-flow to and from the pistons 8. The shaft 2 has a lower speed of rotation than rotary valve 7, the number of teeth on gear 5 being less than the number on the gear 12 of the nutating member 4.
