Abstract

991,859. Garment rails. GARCY CORPORATION. March 19, 1964 [April 16, 1963], No. 11714/64. Heading A4U. A hang rod assembly comprises a plurality of brackets 11 mounted in pilaster strips 12 secured to a wall 13 and each having an adapter 16 secured to the bracket by a screw and including a support 25, having rods 32, and one or more splice bars 39 engageable with rod ends to support them in abutting relationship. The rods 32 are formed of sheet steel bent into substantially cylindrical shape with edges forming two resilient walls 33, 34 which embrace a vertical wall 28 of the support 25 when snapped over a bead 29 on the wall 28. The splice bar 39 is an aluminium casting having an upstanding wall 43 and a cross-bar portion 44 and is slid into the rod 32.
