Abstract

991,762. Transformers and inductances. BRUCE PEEBLES & CO. Ltd. Nov. 29, 1961, No. 42746/61. Addition to 983,282. Heading H1T. A transformer or reactor having its winding or windings 11 housed in an enclosure separate from the enclosure housing the core 13, 14, as described in the parent Specification, has separate gas-operated (relay) devices 44 or 45 for indicating the occurrence of abnormal gas pressure in the respective enclosures. The winding enclosure is formed by upper and lower plates 17, 18, cylinders 16 and portion 22 of the transformer casing and is provided with pressure relief vents 47. The core enclosure consists of upper and lower chambers 23, 24 and the interconnecting core containing spaces within the cylinders 16. Circulating oil is supplied separately to the bottoms of two enclosures through delivery valves and removed through suction lines communicating with the tops of the enclosures through suction valves. Two conservators 41 are provided as well as filter and drain valves.
