Abstract

The windings of a cryotransformer are cooled by enclosing within the windings channels 6 connected to inlet and outlet conduits 7, 8 for the passage of cryogenic fluid. Dielectric insulation in the space 5 between two windings 3, 4 may be a vacuum or the cryogenic fluid. Heat insulation fills the spaces 12-15 between the windings and annular tank 1.
