Abstract

896,609. Transformers. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 21, 1958 [Oct. 24, 1957], No. 33294/57. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XIII] Cooling liquid 14 immersing a transformer or other electrical apparatus in the tank 10 passes when heated, through inner tube members 12a of cooling elements 12, out of a slot in the upper surface of each tube 12a, down between the outside of that tube and the inner walls of the outer tube 12b, which surrounds it, and out of tube 12b in a cooler state to flow down between the tank wall 10 and barrier 13 to the bottom of the tank. Passages at the bottom of barrier 13 allow the cooled liquid to pass through the barrier back to the electrical apparatus. Cooling fins are provided on the elements 12. Specifications 834,056, 887,383 and 887,384 are referred to.
