991,403. Impact pulverizers. H. A. MERGES, [trading as CONDUX-WERK. HERBERT A. MERGES KOMM.-GES.]. April 22, 1964 [April 26, 1963], No. 16689/64. Heading B2A. A blower-type pulverizer includes a drumshaped rotor comprising a rear disc 9 with arms 11 parallel to the rotor axis holding a front supporting ring 1, which is slotted to receive grinding blades 2 secured at their other ends to the disc 9, the outer end portions of the blades being overlapped and secured by holding rings 5, 5<SP>1</SP> which have projections 6 on their outer faces spaced to define recesses 7 between adjacent projections. Wing members 8, 8<SP>1</SP> are arranged radially, tangentially or secantially with respect to the aperture in the supporting ring 1 to aid air flow in the space between the rotor and the housing 12, the wing members 8<SP>1</SP> extending slightly beyond the inner edge of the supporting ring 1 towards the rotor axis. Further wing members 8<SP>11</SP> on the disc 9 control air flow via closable inlets 14 in the back wall of the housing 12. The rotor structure is surrounded in the housing by a screen basket 13.
