A jacquard mechanism for weaving face-toface fabrics utilising a double shed has a griffe frame 2 which takes hookd 12 to 15 from the lower warp sheet level to the upper sheet level, a griffe frame 3 having half the stroke of the frame 2 which takes respective hooks either from the bottom level to the centre level or from the centre level to the top level, a fixed bottom board 7, a movable bottom board 6 and a card mechanism 16 to 19 which is said to transfer the hooks from one griffe to the other to provide the pile threads which traverse from one fabric to the other and are subsequently cut to form pile.
