Abstract
A gelatin dispersion in a mixture of at least one organic solvent, particularly methanol, ethanol or acetone, and an amount of water up to 20% by volume of the dispersion is characterized in that it contains a quantity of p-toluene sulphonic acid which keeps the pH of the dispersion sufficiently low for preventing the gelatin from precipitating. The gelatin content of the dispersion preferably amounts to from 10 to 15 gm. per litre of dispersion, and the quantity of p-toluene sulphonic acid preferably amounts to from 1 to 85% by weight of gelatin.
