Abstract

Natural rubber latex is stabilized by adding thereto a derivative of ammonia of formula XNH2 where X is a hydroxy group or a hydroxy alkyl group or an aromatic nucleus free from any basic group or basic substituent. The ammonia derivative may be monoethanolamine, naphthylamine, aniline or hydroxylamine and may be employed in amount from 0.1 to 5% of the rubber solids content of the latex.
