Abstract
990, 029. Automatic speed-control systems. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. Aug. 2, 1961, No. 28098/61. Drawings to Specification. Heading G3R. [Also in Division H2] A system wherein a plurality of electric motors each driving the several units of a rotary printing machine may be controlled independently of one another or interdependently so that the torque transmitted through the couplings between the units is minimised, has each unit provided with bridge circuit means whereby the armature voltage of the driving motor may be compared with a reference voltage so as to control the motor speed at any desired value independently of the speed of the motor of any other unit, the bridge circuit of each unit being further provided with means dependent of the armature current of the respective driving motor whereby the load on each motor is apportioned to reduce the torque transmitted through the couplings between the units, each coupling having switching means associated therewith so that when the couplings are energized the switching means are operative to remove the independent control of all the units except the leading unit and to render all the units controllagle in accordance with the leading unit.
