A device for transferring liquid metal from a first furnace to a second, particularly an induction furnace, which is tiltable and at a lower level comprises a heat-resistant horizontal pipe arranged above and parallel to the tilting axis of the second furnace and projecting into the same with a funnel-shaped vertical extension at the pipe inlet guided such that the said extension remains beneath the supply opening of the first furnace in all operating positions of the second furnace. A horizontal pipe 4 having a vertical funnel-shaped extension 5 projects in an aperture 3 in a tilting second furnace body 1 above the shaft 2 thereof. A lever 6 pivotally connects the shaft to the pipe at 11 and a funnelattached triangular plate 12 is guided at its free end by a bolt 7 sliding in a fixed slotted link 8 such that the funnel remains beneath the supply opening 10 of a first furnace in the smelting (Fig. 2), pouring, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), and slag-removing, Fig. 5 (not shown), positions of the second furnace.
