Abstract
989,572. Filing papers. J. T. EDWARDS. Feb. 10, 1964 [Feb. 22, 1963], No. 7142/63. Heading B6E. A holder or binder for loose leaves comprises a base 10, which may be a vacuum moulding of acrylic resin, formed with an upstanding rim 11 and shallow depressed parts 13, which form stiffening ribs, and a separate strip 14 which defines an open-sided box-like spine portion to receive the leaves to be filed. The strip 14 and base 10 have complementary holes to receive one or more nylon pegs 15 which pass through corresponding holes in the leaves. The edges of the leaves are thus protected by the rim 11, and a finger recess 16 is provided in the rim to enable leaves to be grasped. A metal or other cover sheet may be provided, and this may be hinged and have a fastening means thereon. In a modification, the base is omitted, and the holder merely comprises an open-sided boxlike spine portion with filing pegs. The spine comprises a member closed on three sides, the bottom face being extended a short distance, and the leaves are inserted at the open side and are guided by the extended bottom face.
