987,891. Making armatures. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. March 26, 1962 [April 14, 1961], No. 11370/62. Heading B3A. [Also in Divisions H1 and H2] A disc armature for an electrical machine, comprising thin flat conductors b applied to the two surfaces of an annular insulating disc a to extend generally radially of the disc and having each end of a conductor on one surface connected to an end of a conductor on the other surface, is manufactured by a method which comprises stamping in two thin annular metal discs ribs d to project out of the plane of the discs at those regions which are to form gaps c between conductors in the finished armature, glueing the stamped discs one to each surface of the insulating disc a such that the ribs are on the outside, and then removing the ribs to separate the conductors from one another. The discs may be of copper, and the rib removal effected by turning or grinding.
