Abstract
987,405. Relay circuits. EL-RE-MA S.A. PER LO SPRUTTAMENTO DI BREVETTI. May 10, 1961, No. 17018/61. Headings H3P and H3T. A pulse operated relay is held, between pulses, by a holding circuit including a static switch device which interrupts the holding current when the pulses are present. Two relays of a group of relays have respective operating windings A, B and respective holding windings MA, MB, the latter windings, being connected in a circuit containing a contact SMA, SMB and a D.C. supply Ba. The operating windings are connected to pulse sources IgI, IgIII so that if a contact a or b is closed the next pulse will operate the relay and it will be held operated by the holding circuit. The succeeding pulses will each produce a sufficient voltage across R2 to block rectifier Dv and so reduce the holding current-momentarily to zero. The relay is released by interrupting the control winding pulses and opening contact SMA or SMB. The arrangement is such that the contacts may be opened or closed at times when they are not connected to a source of current. The holding winding may be connected in the output circuit of a transistor the current through which is controlled by the voltage across resistor R1 or R2 or across a diode replacing the resistor (Fig. 4, not shown). When the voltage in the holding circuit is large, series connected transistors may be used (Fig. 5, not shown).
