Abstract

917,382. Controlled semi-conductor rectifier switching circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. March 17, 1961, No. 9844/61. Class 40 (6). [Also in Group XXXV] A load 6 is supplied with H.W. rectified D.C. from an A.C. source 5 through a pair of series-connected semi-conductor controlled rectifiers 1, 2, which are fired simultaneously by steeply rising pulses from a transformer 7, Zener diodes 16, 17, or other voltage-sensitive breakdown devices, being connected across the gate-cathode circuits to limit the signal input. A voltage-dividing arrangement 18, 19, 20, 21, shares the applied voltage between the two rectifiers.
