Apparatus for recording a force which results in variations of the oscillatory movement of the upper end of a spring 23 which is oscillating about the median position shown comprises an electrical recording circuit energized in response to movement of the end of the spring to a predetermined position spaced from the median position and a stylus co-operating with electro-sensitive paper actuated upon energization of the recording circuit to record the part of the period of oscillation which elapses before the end of the spring reaches the predetermined position. As described the invention is applied to the cure test on a sample of rubber composition as described in Specification 987,400.
