G1S and G1W Apparatus to demonstrate the acceleration of a body B due to gravity or other forces is so constructed (a) that accelerations and retardations of the body caused by a varied range of applied forces can be recorded on a stationary plane surface E by a freely vibrating marker C which is attached to the body B and (b) that it can be adjusted for the body B to roll or slide while the retardations and accelerations are recorded. Arrangements are described for finding the energy needed to fracture a test length of thin wire, nylon, plastic or rubber and for performing impact tests.
