986,670. Rocket projectors; ammunition fuzes. VERWALTUNGSGESELLSCHAFT DER WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON. May 19, 1961 [June 30, 1960], No. 27567/64. Divided out of 986,669. Headings F3A and F3C. A projector device for explosive projectiles G1 . . . G3 which are fuzed for optionally preselectable instantaneous or delayed action ignition upon impact is provided with selecting means 30 projecting into the projector device and operable from outside for optionally presetting the projectiles in the projector device to instantaneous or delayed action ignition. As shown, the projectiles G 1 . . . G 3 with rocket motors R 1 . . - R 3 are provided with an instantaneous action nose fuze having a head 16, inward depression of which inactivates the fuze, and a delayed action base fuze. As the projectiles move in the magazine 26 towards the firing mechanism 27 they move past a pivoted latch 30 which can be locked in two positions by means of a pin 35. In the first position (indicated in full lines) the heads 16 contact an inclined face 30a on the latch which depresses them to inactivate the nose fuzes. In the second position (indicated in chaindotted lines) the inclined face 30a is clear of the heads 16 so that no inactivation of the nose fuze takes place.
