Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:0985004/C2/1> wherein R1 is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl radical having 1 to 9 carbon atoms and R11 is a radical of an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic carboxylic or alkylcarbonic acid having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or of nicotinic acid, and their preparation by reduction of a compound of formula <FORM:0985004/C2/2> to the corresponding substituted amine, followed by acylation. Amides of the second general formula above are prepared by reaction of a dihydrolysergic acid mixed anhydride with an amine R1NH2. Pharmaceutical preparations.-The compounds of the invention have oxytocic, antienteraminic, adrenolytic, hypotensive and sedative activity and may be used in combination with a pharmaceutical carrier in forms suitable for oral or parenteral administration, e.g. as tablets, powders or pills.
