Abstract

The invention comprises D-6-methyl- and 1,6-dimethyl-8-aminomethyl-ergoline I derivatives of general formula: <FORM:0959261/C2/1> wherein R1 is hydrogen or methyl and R is hydrogen or the radical of an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic, aralkyl, aralkenyl, heterocyclyl-alkyl, cycloaliphatic-alkyl or heterocyclic carboxylic, dicarboxylic, carbamic, carbonic or sulphonic acid, having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms substituted or not by aryloxy groups or halogen atoms, by free or monoalkylated or dialkylated amino groups, by nitro, hydroxy, alkyl, alkoxy, thioether or sulphonic groups; and their preparation by reduction of the corresponding dihydro-D-lysergamides and, if desired, subsequent acylation with the chloride or anhydride of the appropriate acid. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise compounds of the invention with a therapeutically acceptable carrier. Oral and parenteral administration (tablets, powders, pills, liquids) are mentioned. The compounds have oxytocic, antienteraminic, adrenolytic, hypotensive and sedative properties. Specifications 670,991 and 811,964 are referred to.
