Abstract

1280290 Piperazine derivatives DELALANDE SA 19 April 1971 [18 March 1970] 23880/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises piperazine derivatives of the formula wherein R is CONH 2 , CONHCH(CH 3 ) 2 , 3,4,5- trimethoxyphenylcarbamoyl, pyrrolidin - 1- yl - carbonyl, morpholinocarbonyl, CH 3 CO-, CH 3 CH 2 OCO-, 2 - propargyloxy - 1 - hydroxyethyl or 1 - hydroxy - 1 - phenylethyl and their preparation. Compounds in which R is 2 - propargyloxy - 1 - hydroxyethyl or 1- hydroxy-1-phenylethyl are prepared by reacting 1-benzhydrylpiperazine with 1-propargyloxy - 2,3 - epoxypropane and 2 - phenyl- 2,3-epoxypropane respectively. The remaining compounds are obtained by reacting 1-benzhydrylpiperazine with compounds of the formula Pharmaceutical compositions, suitable for oral or parenteral administration, contain the above novel compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers. The compounds have antihypertensive and analgesic properties.
