Abstract

984,665. Tanks with floating roofs. UNION TANK CAR CO. Sept. 26, 1962 [Sept. 27, 1961], No. 36515/62. Heading E1T. A storage tank for volatile liquids having a float roof 28 is provided with a vent 34, 35 which may be provided in the hollow rails 31, 32 of the inspection ladder as shown or in the supporting legs 43 for the float roof. The roof 28 may be adjustably mounted on the legs 43 by a pin 44 engaging slots 48a in the latter. Suitable seals 11, 46 of rubber, synthetic plastic or fabric are provided and may be suitably designed to accommodate the ladder, see Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown). Specification 947,742 is referred to.
