An amphibious caravan mounted on wheels has buoyancy units 1 connected thereto by posts 7 in such manner as to enable the buoyancy units to be supported on top of the caravan, Fig. 1, for road transport and to be moved to a position, Fig. 2, to support the caravan on water. The buoyancy units comprise two flat-topped cut-water nose, pontoons made of a shell of plywood or fibre glass filled with a foamed or expanded synthetic resin.
