983,939. Propelling water-craft. J. BECKER. July 23, 1963, No. 29099/63. Heading B7V. A propulsion device for water-craft comprises two steerable propellers 1, pivotable through 360 degrees about vertical axes, which are also adjustable in height by slidable carriages 2 which can also be rotated about horizontal axis 4 to the upper right position of Fig. 2. A transmission box 8 is located on the centre-line of the craft above the water-level and has an engine input shaft 15 and a steering input shaft 10. The box 8 also has universally-coupled telescopic shafts 6 and 7 connected to the propeller drive shafts and steering mechanisms, respectivel The propellers have deflecting shrouds 12 and guard plates 13. The steering movement and adjustment of height can be performed individually or in unison.
