983,348. Leg mountings for shelves. HAMILTON COSCO Inc. July 11, 1963 [May 16, 1963], No. 27572/63. Headings A4B, A4H and A4W. A shelf 10, or the like, having skirts 16, 17 normal to the plane of the shelf with leaded edges 18, 19 is offset inwardly at its corners to provide recessed mounting seats for legs 12, and has attached at each corner a bracket 20 with a pair of angularly disposed arms 22, 23 which engage the inner faces of the skirts 16, 17, and the beads 18, 19. The legs 12 are fastened to the shelf by bolts 36 extending through aligned openings 38 in the brackets and legs 12 and engaging nuts 40. Each bracket is fastened to the corner of the shelf 10 by inserting a finger 27 between the skirt 17 and bead 19, stressing the skirt 16 inwardly and inserting a finger 28 via a notch 30 in the bead 18 between the skirt 16 and bead 18, whereupon release of the inward stress disposes the finger 28 and notch 30 out of alignment with each other. A pair of lugs 32, 33 on the bracket 20, will engage the upper faces of the beads 18, 19. The bracket 20 is strengthened by bosses 25 formed on the central portion.
