983, 216. Cooling reactors. BETEILIGUNGSUND PATENTVERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H., and BROWN, BOVERI & CIE A.G. April 27, 1962 [April 28, 1961], No. 16256/62. Drawings to Specification. Heading G6C. In a nuclear reactor the leakage of contaminated coolant gas is prevented. Coolant gas is passed from a supply tank to the reactor chamber through valves which are automatically controlled in accordance with the pressure difference between the reactor and supply tank. If the reactor pressure becomes greater than that in the tank, due to a leak in the latter, the valves are automatically closed. Any leakage into the supply tank, of radioactive gas from the reactor, through the closed valves, is slow enough to permit decay of the radioactivity of the safety level.
