Abstract
981,639. Transistor circuits. MARCONI CO. Ltd. May 2, 1963 [Nov. 1, 1962], No. 41302/62. Heading H3T. A transistor circuit arrangement comprises an emitter follower transistor VT1 with a first constant current device K2 in the emitter circuit of the transistor and a second constant current device K1 connected by a series resistor R4 to the emitter of the transmitter, whereby the current through the resistor combines with that from the first constant current device to ensure that the transistor VT1 is supplied with a constant emitter current, the voltage between the collector and emitter of the transistor being dependent on the voltage across the resistor R4. The current through and the voltage across transistor VT1 are accordingly both maintained constant. In the Figure the constant current devices each comprise a transistor with a Zener diode between the emitter and the base. The constant voltage across the resistor R4 is applied to the collector emitter circuit of transistor VT1 by an emitter follower VT4. The Zener diodes Z1, Z2 may be replaced by batteries.
