Abstract

742,336. Television. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. Sept. 15, 1953 [Oct. 1, 1952], No. 25481/53. Addition to 742,134, [Group XL (c)]. Class 40 (3). [Also in Group XL (c)] In a circuit of the type described in the parent Specification one electrode 31 of a symmetrical transistor 20, Fig. 1, is connected to a reference potential and another electrode 35 is connected to a point to be clamped. A negative giving pulse applied to the electrode 33 attached to the N-type central region causes bidirectional flow to occur between the two end P-type regions so that the grid 17 is brought to the potential of the tapping on potentiometer 47. The pulse may conveniently be generated by the line time base circuit (Fig. 2, not shown), and the grid may be that of the C.R.T. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown), a NPN transistor is employed with appropriate biasing arrangements.
