Abstract

860,685. Transistor pulse-discriminating circuits. SOC. D'ELECTRONIQUE ET D'AUTOMATISME. Sept. 12, 1957 [Sept. 24, 1956], No. 28771/57. Class 40 (6). [Also in Group XL (b)] A circuit is arranged with a high resistor 31 in the collector circuit of the transistor 1, Fig. 1, so that the potential of the collector V a remains near earth potential except when the base current is near zero. Curve 1, Fig. 5, shows normal resistor and curve 4 the effect of using a much larger resistor 31, A being the gain of the stage. When the emitter-base circuit is biased forwardly the potential drop across the resistor 31 is sufficient to hold the collector near earth potential, and when the base emitter junction is negatively biased the collector potential is near the supply. A number of transistors 1 ...4 may be arranged with varying biases on them so that a saw-tooth wave V c is effective at terminal 61 to cause the transistors to conduct in turn, Fig. 6, to allow the circuit to operate as a distributer of an input signal 60 (see Group XL (b)).
