981,205. Packages. HYDE MANUFACTURING CO. Oct. 1, 1962 [Nov. 13, 1961], No. 37079/62. Heading B8C. The blade 12 of a tool such as a putty knife is protected by a packaging element comprising a cardboard blank folded in half to form leaves 18, 20 having notches defined by lines 28, 32 which locate the handle 10 of the knife at its juncture with the blade 12, the two leaves 28, 32 being secured together by, for example, a fastener 34 in the form of a staple which embraces the knife at the narrow waist portion formed by the juncture of the blade and the handle. Hanger holes 16, 24 are provided in the knife handle and the package respectively. An aperture 26 reveals trademarks &c. The leaves 18, 20 may alternatively be secured together with paste or pressure-sensitive adhesive.
