Abstract

A charge for a pressure type fire-extinguisher is a powder comprising a major proportion by weight of a fire-resistant material, e.g. sodium bicarbonate or borax and a minor proportion of an anticaking material, e.g. talc or a metal (e.g. magnesium) stearate and a pressurized propellant present partly as a liquid and partly as a gas which is a mixture of equal parts by liquid volume of dichlorodifluoromethane and trichlorofluoromethane.ALSO:A pressure type fire extinguisher comprises a container with a dispensing valve containing a powder comprising a major proportion by weight of a fire-resistant material, e.g. sodium bicarbonate or borax and a minor proportion of an anticaking agent, e.g. talc or a metal stearate such as magnesium stearate and a pressurized propellant present in the container partly as a liquid and partly as a gas which comprises equal parts by liquid volume of trichlorofluoromethane and dichlorodifluoromethane.
