978,682. Hooks. NON - CORROSIVE METAL PRODUCTS Ltd. Feb. 15, 1961 [Feb. 15, 1960], No. 5330/60. Heading F2H. [Also in Divisions B7 and B8] A tug-towing hook comprises a shackle 2, bolted to the vessel structure, and a pin 3 which passes through the ring 13 of the tow cable 9. The pin 3 is moved into and out of the shackle 2 by the hydraulic piston and cylinder 7 and 8 to provide a quick method of casting- off in an emergency, controlled from the bridge. The pin 3 may be screw-threaded and be moved longitudinally by an electric motor.
