[Also in Divisions F1 and F2] The upward stroke of the hollow fluid actuated piston (27), Fig. 1 (not shown), of a lifting jack is limited by abutment of outwardly diverted spaced lateral projections (35) on the piston skirt (29) engaging inwardly directed spaced lateral projections (11) on the cylinder wall (5); the spacing of the projections being such as to allow complete withdrawal of the piston from its cylinder after partialrotation of the piston about its axis. The spaced projections (11, 35) may be arcuate segments or pins.
