980,822. Hydraulic pit props. ACROW (ENGINEERS) Ltd. March 1, 1961 [March 14, 1960], No. 9017/60. Heading E1E In an hydraulic pit prop comprising a ram 6 sliding in a cylinder 4, the ram head 12 which carries the main valve 10 and a relief valve 14 is attached to the member 6 by two semi-cylindrical shells 16 of bearing metal. Each shell has a rim 18 engaging a groove 20 in the member 6 and a shoulder 22 engaging a shoulder 24 on the ram head. The prop is provided with low- and high-pressure pumping pistons 7, 9 respectively.
