894,292. Hydraulic pit props. MASTABAR MINING EQUIPMENT CO. Ltd., TEBB, B., and PERRY, C. H. July 23, 1958 [July 30, 1957], No. 24074/57. Class 20(2) An hydraulic telescopic pit prop comprises a cylinder 10 having a reservoir piston 14 with a head formed of two parts 24, 26 which may be manually separated to allow fluid from the pressure chamber 18 to flow between them to the reservoir 16 in order to release the prop. The prop is set by piston pump 38 operated by a crank 48 and a handle which when moved beyond its normal stroke causes the pump piston 40 to force the piston head part 26 down against springs 36 providing a passage past a sealing ring 34 between the two piston head parts.
