Abstract
977,364. Valves. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Nov. 28, 1962 [Dec. 11, 1961], No. 44979/62. Heading F2V. A valve comprises discs P 1 , P 2 , P 3 , Fig. 1, separated by membranes M, the disc P 2 having axial bores arranged in a circle and connected to radial gas pipes S1 . . . S 6 . Each end disc P 1 , P 3 is constructed with chambers L 1 , L 2 , L 3 , Fig. 3, connected to a common air supply pipe SL 2 and having openings in the face adjacent the membrane such that one opening covers two of the bores. The openings of the discs P 1 , P 3 are offset from each other such that the bore of pipe S 1 for example is opposite an opening in one disc which also covers the adjacent bore of pipe S 2 and at the other end is opposite an opening which also covers the other adjacent bore of pipe S 6 . When air is supplied to the discs P 1 , P 3 the membranes close the axial bores but when this air supply is exhausted the membranes can flex to allow a bore to communicate with an adjacent bore.
